Interactive Learning with Discriminative Feature Feedback 

 Abstract:
In this talk I will discuss a model of learning with feature-based explanations, that we call Discriminative Feature Feedback. This model formalizes a natural notion of interactive learning with explanations. We study algorithms for this model, including robust algorithms for adversarial and stochastic settings, and derive insightful new results on learning with feature-based explanation. Joint work with Sanjoy Dasgupta, Nicholas Roberts and Akansha Dey.

Speaker’s Short bio:
Prof. Sabato is a recipient of the Alon Scholarship of the Council for Higher Education of Israel for excellent new faculty. She is also a recipient of the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, and an alumna of the Adams Fellowship Program of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
Prof. Sabato serves as an Action Editor for the Journal of Machine Learning Research and for the Transactions of Machine Learning Research, and routinely serves as an Area Chair at Machine Learning conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, COLT, ALT and AISTATS. She was also the Publication Chair for ALT 2021 and a Publication Co-Chair for ICML 2022.
